CAUCUS IS TUESDAY, MARCH 6!

PRE-REGISTER FOR CAUCUS here.
Boulder County is the first Democratic Party to attempt the online pre-registration. Registration is a two step process:
The pre-registration, done prior to and on Caucus night. Then, the QR code from pre-registration is scanned again and registrant gets blue card. The blue card is each attendee’s credential. You can’t vote without a blue card. Blue cards are turned in with precinct paperwork at end of evening.

A smaller crowd than 2016 is expected for Tuesday’s Caucus. However, if your Supersite (the caucus location that houses several precincts) is chaotic, here’s a good rule of thumb: Don’t Complain First. Thank a Volunteer, THEN ask your question. They’ll be happy to help or find someone who can. (Also consider volunteering yourself next time…Thanks!)

The Boulder County Democratic Party, that recruits volunteers to run Caucus, has been conducting training sessions for weeks. You’ll find more training information at bocodems.org

ANOTHER RULE for CAUCUS: If it ultimately isn’t on paper, it didn’t happen. Even if you aren’t a Secretary in your Precinct Breakout, it’s critical that the paperwork is filled out legibly and completely, and must be signed by Delegates and turned in at the end of the night. Try to help out if you can.

DONATIONS: It’s costing the county party $17,000 to put on Caucus. Any donation $20 or over MUST have a donation envelope fully filled out to accompany it. Last year, $2000 in random bills with no donation envelopes had to be given to charity. (STATE LAW.)
IF YOU STEP UP TO BE A PRECINCT LEADER, or are continuing as one, THANK YOU!
IF YOU BECOME A DELEGATE, THANK YOU! But be certain you can follow through on the process: County Assembly, March 24 and State Assembly April 14. There are no Alternate Delegates this year. DO NOT LOSE your chance to REPRESENT.
IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO BECOME A PRECINCT LEADER, please consider getting contact information from the person who has decided to represent your neighborhood. Just two hours of your time on a weekend will help a lot! THANK YOU!
CAUCUS MOVES QUICKLY. There are Schedule Posters posted everywhere with time limits. Everyone must be out of your Supersite location by 9pm.
AND MOST OF ALL, THANK YOU for participating in Caucus! The sooner folks get engaged in the process of an important election year, the more empowered they’ll feel.

Longmont Area Democrats conducted an informational meeting on February 8, 2018 about Caucus. Slides from that event are posted below. If you have any questions about caucus, you can email us at longmontareadems@gmail.com
