Well, it’s an ‘odd-numbered’ year which means it’s time for Longmont City Council Elections!
You can see detailed information about your City Council Members at:
http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/city_council/members/index.htm
Terms that expire this year are:
Julia Pirnack (Mayor), Doug Brown (Ward I), Marty Block (Ward III) and Fred Wilson (At Large).
So we have three Council seats up for grabs as well as Mayor!
If you’d like to run, here’s what the City Clerk’s Office says:
Four Council seats are up for election during odd-numbered years. In 2007, the Mayor’s seat and Ward I, Ward III, and an At-Large seat will be up for election. Candidate packets may be available as early as July 2007. Nomination petitions are only available through the City Clerk’s office.
Candidate Eligibility

- Must be 21 years of age or older;
- Must have resided and have been a qualified elector in the City of Longmont for one-year immediately preceding the election date;
