We can’t be afraid to challenge our comfort zones. The time is now, as we address the most important issue that threatens the meaning of real community in Longmont:
How can we be allies to our Latino residents — ensuring that Longmont is vibrant, inclusive — and SAFE?
With the collapse of the DREAM Act in Congress, heightened deportation, and alarming, overt racism — what can be done locally to support our immigrant residents, whether they are documented or undocumented?
First, we’ll LISTEN: panel discussion moderated by LAD board member Angel Sanchez, with undocumented youth leaders from the Northern Colorado Dreamers United — along with Longmont City Council member Polly Christensen, Local Immigration Activist Bob Norris and State Representative Jonathan Singer (HD11).
