MORE LOCAL AND STATE ISSUES: The current Legislative session ends on May 8. Our Democratic representatives have been quite busy, working late hours — as well as across the aisle — at the Capitol making the changes you voted them into office to do! We will start the meeting with a discussion of what bills are still making it through committee and are poised for a vote before session ends — and how you can help.
Even closer to home, we’ll have Vincent Jordan, Longmont Power Company Broadband Services Manager, who will provide information and answer questions on the progress of our fiber optic network in Longmont. We are also pleased to have Patrol Commander Tim Perkins from the Longmont Police Department, who will discuss gun violence in Longmont and how the new legislation on gun safety and mental health will directly affect our citizens.
