Congratulations to all winners in the Democratic Primary and to all candidates for stepping up and working your campaigns. Every participant, regardless of their outcome, contributed to our vital democratic discourse. You knocked on doors, got to know voters, spoke with passion about the issues that face our state, county and city. It is all part of emboldening our Democracy — that’s why they call us Democrats! — at the heart of which is an active and informed citizenry. And our work continues…
BUSY ELECTION YEAR! And there are many ways to be involved as well as have fun. Whether it is supporting our great candidates, being ambassadors for the Affordable Care Act, being a precinct leader, carrying petitions for the causes you care about, registering folks to vote, or simply spreading the message to your neighbors (just one example: VOTE THE WHOLE BALLOT!) — THANK YOU for understanding the importance of involvement. It’s not always easy, and we all have busy lives, but we are here to spread what we’ve learned, taking advantage of and growing the great progressive community we have here in Longmont.
723 Main Street continues to be the hub of all Longmont progressive activism. Our friends at the Boulder County Democratic Party are graciously paying the mortgage for the duration of the year. Candidates will have space at 723, there have already been precinct leader meetings and gatherings and the launch of two very important projects for this summer.
