Next LAD Meeting 10/07/09 – The November 2009 Ballot Issues

Elections are about more than just candidates.  They are about Issues too.

Do you ever feel like you play Bingo every first Tuesday in November?  2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d as well as 1a and 1b are not games.  But if the voters choose wisely, we can all win.

Join the Longmont Area Democrats Wednesday October 7th for a presentation and
discussion of the ballot items Longmont voters will be facing.

What: Longmont Area Democrats Monthly Meeting
Where: Front Range Community College (Longmont Campus – Community Room) 2190 Miller Dr
When: 7pm to 9pm
Why: The 2009 all mail-in ballot is not nearly as long winded as some previous
years.  However, there are some critical issues that the Longmont and Boulder
County are facing.

For example did you know that there is an item on the ballot that will allow voters to
decide if Longmont could be allowed to provide cable and Internet services?
(Issue 2C)?

Come and be a part of the LAD city election follow-up as we discuss all of the
items on the 2009 ballot.

FALL 2009 TRAINING SCHEDULE

For Precinct Leaders

WHAT?  3 Components in 1 Training (see choices of dates below)

1. Think Precinct Basic Training: 9 simple steps to get your precinct organized and ready to do its best on important upcoming Field Team activities.

2. Canvassing and Messaging Training: How to communicate Democratic values to friends and neighbors to encourage them to help keep Colorado BLUE

3. VoteBuilder (VAN) Training: NEW FOR EVERYONE! Make a smooth transition from Precinct Corner to the statewide VoteBuilder voter list database.  We will be using VoteBuilder for the 2010 Caucus – make sure you know how.

WHY?

Start now so you and your volunteers are ready to act – sooner than you think.

2010 is an extremely important year for Colorado.

All of our state officials are up for re-election (governor, secretary of state, etc).

One of our US Senate seats and all our CD Representatives are in play.

2010 is a census year, so it is imperative that we keep our majorities in the state legislature so we can best impact redistricting that will occur in 2011.
