Longmont City Council Elections – Nov 2007

Well, it’s an ‘odd-numbered’ year which means it’s time for Longmont City Council Elections!

You can see detailed information about your City Council Members at:

http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/city_council/members/index.htm

Terms that expire this year are:

Julia Pirnack (Mayor), Doug Brown (Ward I), Marty Block (Ward III) and Fred Wilson (At Large).

So we have three Council seats up for grabs as well as Mayor!

If you’d like to run, here’s what the City Clerk’s Office says:

Four Council seats are up for election during odd-numbered years. In 2007, the Mayor’s seat and Ward I, Ward III, and an At-Large seat will be up for election. Candidate packets may be available as early as July 2007. Nomination petitions are only available through the City Clerk’s office.

Candidate Eligibility

Citizens of Longmont who are interested in running for election to the City Council must circulate a nomination petition to get their name on the ballot. For the position of Mayor and At-Large City Council seats, petitions must contain the signatures of at least fifty (50) Longmont citizens who are registered to vote. For a Ward Council seat, the petitions must contain the signatures of at least twenty-five (25) Longmont citizens who are registered to vote and reside within the ward.
